  • New designs for my jewellry

I feel this looks like it's a view through the sea
I thought I'd explain why there are some strange pieces on today's blog. I had some really lovely colours for decorations, and some tiny metal items to add to the design. I hadn't realised that women now like decorating their nails nowadays, and so there are lots of things that fit beautifully into my jewellry. I honestly never considered getting the dried flowers and decorations from a shop which sold items for nail decorations. Usually I have cabochons (the casings) with only…

  • Oh dear it's that time of year again!!!!!

Stupid 2 on the porch roof
I opened the back door this morning to hear something walking across my porch roof - it was a baby seagull. There wasn't anyone last year because the neighbours had erected this amazing net over the chimneys to stop the seagulls nesting there. Well they were absolutely determined to have a nest there - they've been doing it for over 60 years that I know of. Well Mum, or Dad, must have become aware that I was there, because one of them came down immediately to be near the baby. I must admit it's…

  • Just after 12:30 AM on 5 July 2022 I died...

    Article Image
Composite created from images purchased from Shutterstock While I never crossed the threshold of the point of no return – permanent death – the near death experience (NDE) was nevertheless a shock. Being in top physical shape with perfect numbers on my last physical in December 2021, it was something I could have never imagined nor expected, which reinforces Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius’ (121-180 CE) words, “Live each day as if it were your last...” When I overexerted myself to hasten…

  • You'll never guess what!!!!!

Yep - stupid gull chick No.2 has come down onto the porch roof now!!! The third (bigger chick apparently) is still up there on the main roof. Hopefully it'll stay there. So now I have two baby chicks walking all around on the porch roof in their mess!!!! Great eh?

  • At long last a warm day!!!!!

Some of the cherry blossom still on the tree
Hiya folks, at long long last, we had a warm day here in the South West - one of the first since last year!!!! Woweeee - there was a slight breeze but the sun was shining and the sky was blue - beautiful. It was so lovely to have the lounge window open nearly all day!!!! I actually walked out to see the bluebells growing in the driveway and the lilacs are almost out. Then I was being a bride!!!! Lots and lots of blossom petals were falling all over me! Of course my cherry blossom has been out f…

  • Wow - this warm weather has been very welcome.....

    The beautiful white lilac
As you all in the UK are aware, we have had some amazingly sunny days lately and even some warmth too - which is oh so welcome. Apparently we can expect some rain this coming week, which isn't very good, but I suppose that it is necessary for the plants etc. My bluebells are thriving on the driveway - a sea of blue, a visitor called it, all made possible because I don't drive a car over it now, because the car is well and truly done with, I swear it's growing on the drive!!!!! There are flowery…

  • I've had my hair cut!!!!!!

    A simple design, but effective
Woweee!!! After almost 18months, I've at last had my hair cut. I can hardly believe it. I won't have to wear a hair grip, or suchlike again. Oh I feel so much better. I had to walk through a large shop to the back where the hairdressers are situated, and it wasn't until I browsed some shelves where they were selling petunias, that I realised it was close on 2 years since I last went into a shop!!! I have seen pictures of those markings on the floor, with footprints on them, signs saying "this…

  • I walked up the driveway today!!!!

The centre of the drive is full of flowers
Hiya folks, well these past couple of days have been quite fulfilling really. As you all probably know - the weather, despite it being May - has been really cold. Now living down here in the South West, the weather seems to be slightly different from other parts of the country. Today has been a gloriously sunny day, but boy was there a bitter wind. Yet I saw on the web cams, in other parts of the country it was raining and very windy, for such a small country (compared to the larger countries) i…

  • Hiya folks

Sorry - this is just going to be a very short, (not sure about the sweet though) version of what has been going on this last week. Monday 19th January - my daughter's 50th birthday - dawned a cold crisp day. I wasn't feeling 100% but I carried on - chatting to Mandi on her very special day - but she kept moaning about being half a century old - I told her to wait until until she realised that she was almost 3/4 of a century old like me. Well Tuesday merged with Monday in that I hardly sle…

  • Waaahay - we can upload our pictures at last!!!!

    I quite like this one
Now I've not been outside, apart from my one trip to Westward Ho! in September, for a year now, so I've kept myself busy by making pendants. Some I've given away for Christmas, but others I've kept here. I am thoroughly enjoying myself and I have decided to sell the ones left over on e-bay, but not until I stop getting the urge to make them. Otherwise it becomes a job and not for pleasure. I do like these with the metal outline. I need to try and get rid of those air bubb…

  • The flowers in the lounge are growing like mad!!!

My plants are loving the bay window
Even though we've had a lot of very cold weather - I think the double glazing has helped by not letting the freezing cold get to them. When there is a little bit of sun, they relish in it. The hoya has seen fit to try and escape through the pelmet at the top of the window!!!! When Emily comes on Tuesday, I'll ask her to tie it back again!!!! It's lovely seeing the red splashes of colour from the "flamingo plant"...... but Emily bought me a Bromeliad plant with a lovely…

  • 2021-01-01 Happy New Year!

⏩ Deutsche Version ⏩ Version française Dear members and friends of ipernity, A turbulent year ends. In everyday life, we were confronted with incidents that were not even vaguely imaginable at the start of the year. And with regard to our website we also encountered some very critical challenges. In spring, we were struck by an interruption in the connection to PayPal. The cause was that our website was using outdated software that PayPal no longer accepted. In summer, a se…

  • I've been out!!!!!!!!!!!

    Looking towards the beach
My gorgeous new friend, Emily, came today as usual and she said that as the weather was good - did I fancy a quick trip to the seaside!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe what she was saying - she said that she realised how much I was missing the sea, and was happy to take me out for a quick trip. WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!! how could I say no? Apart from the fact that I'm still having problems breathing - the trip out was too strong a pull. So we quickly got ready and drove out to Westward Ho!. I expected…

  • A break in the sunny days - great for the garden though!!!!

You can just make out the tiny apples starting to grow
This is just a quickie, I realised that I hadn't written for some time - so I apologise (or do I gain thanks for being quiet!!!?) We have had a glorious May - I think we had mostly warm sunny days, with bright blue skies most days, so it was quite a shock (not an unpleasant one) yesterday, when I woke up to a wet cat wanting to be dried off!!!. We had had some rain, which was really welcomed, my grass - or should I say "straw" - was very happy to be wet again. Well we didn't have a great amou…

  • The cherries are ripening.......

    These cherries are almost ripe
I noticed the cherries are almost ripe and the birds are going to have a wonderful feast. Unfortunately for me - they are about 25 feet off the ground!!!! There are no cherries at a lower branch. So I thoroughly enjoyed the cherry blossom earlier on in the year, now I am looking at the fruit and I can't do anything but look!!!!! LOL I don't remember seeing so many cherries up there before - in fact this year has been a bumper crop of everything. Do you think it might be because…
