(Text: Reinhard Mey) Eines haben Flughäfen, Bahnhöfe und Häfen gemeinsam: Sie sind Punkte auf der Landkarte, von denen wir meistens nach ganz weit weg starten. Das unterscheidet sie deutlich vom Parkplatz, auf dem wir ins Auto steigen, um irgendwo hinzufahren. Allerdings - und da gibt es auch unterschiedliche Gemeinsamkeiten - von der Romantik wie in Reinhard Meys Lied, haben wir uns schon lange verabschiedet.

Das Märchen "Das kalte Herz" von Wilhem Hauff beginnt mit dem Satz: "Wer durch Schwaben reist..." und bezieht sich zwar auf einen Abstecher in den Schwarzwald, kann aber oft angewendet werden, wenn man eben "durch Schwaben reist" und das können ganz unterschiedliche Landstriche sein.

"Where No Man Has Gone Before" oder "Where I have never gone before" Es gibt wohl in jedem Leben eines Menschen sogenannte "galaktische Barrieren" , die so gut wie nie überschritten werden können. Auch wenn ich ein Fan von Sciene Fiction bin, so geht es hier nicht um Raumschiffe und Abenteuer im Universum. Aber wir sind ja nun mal im Universum, können uns nur nicht so frei im selbigen bewegen, wie wir es gerne wollen. Kurz gesagt, ich werde nie zum Mond fliegen, geschweige zu Planeten in unserer Galaxis und schon gar nicht darüber hinaus. Aber es ist sichtbar und wenn ich schon nicht dorthin reisen kann, so kann ich zumindest versuchen, das Sichtbare "näher 'ran zu holen".

I'm sure that you all have heard that our Queen Elizabeth has just died. I remember when she was crowned and the whole country celebrated. I was 5 and had great fun celebrating her coronation - but was too young to know why!!!! My mum made me this outfit - it was red, white and blue (of course) and it was a sort of very thin muslin. I am getting so excited, my daughter, Mandi, who I haven't see in person for almost 3 years is at last coming over to see me.!!!! I can hardly believe it.
