The bread was a bit on the dry side, Leon. Although, come to think of it, I've eaten that bread they sell off bratwurst wagons in Switzerland and was extremely fortunate to escape with all my teeth.

Looks delicious, although I prefer something else !!

I'd prefer something else, too, Jaap, like the duck-with-hoisin-sauce sandwiches Prêt-à-Manger sells in the UK, but no Prêt-à-Manger here.

That's a lot of ham!

Lean ham, too. So that was OK. The cheese's taste was discernible, which isn't always true in Canada (I bought this while I was getting the groceries -- the only alternative was made of things I can't eat).

Ham and cheese...............no thanks John. I don't eat meat :-))

I have to admit though, that the smell of bacon cooking still gets to me!

Ah well. Keith. The only thing I do with meat is eat it. I say tomayto, and you say tomahto -- oh, that's actually true. Well, I really say tamayda but you get my drift. If bacon gets to you, Southern Ontario is a dangerous place for you. Its national dish is peameal bacon. Put that on a bun with lots of horseradish and you are going to eat more. I don't know how well my favourite peameal places have weathered the pandemic, though.

Looks a bit dry to my taste.

It was to mine, too, Sarah. As I mentioned to Leon, though, it was not as dry as the bread that comes with your bratwurst when you buy it on the street in Switzerland.

No offence but I'd avoid this one!

Not a bad decision, Denis. This was a sandwich de convenance. I bought it so I wouldn't have to prepare anthing to eat when I got back from doing the groceries.

Still I miss s.th.
I miss some colours.
A bit green from a leaf of lettuce, and some red from sweet peppers and one or two tiny slices of tomatoe (what even could add some yellow), thin cut chives, parsley, some rings of red onions ... - yarch, I am garderner, that's what it is ... ;-)

Now that Ontario is slowly opening up again, Leon, I may be able to find some more colourful sandwiches. I don't keep bread at home so rely on retail suppliers. That will add some variety to the series, which will continue one way or another.

In Japan, ham sandwiches usually contain only one piece of ham.
There are even some that contain only a sliced section of ham.

In my opinion, this is the ultimate form of capitalism.
