Valentine's Lamp ~ Frome
George V Post Box attached to Valentine's Lamp ~ This is actually a working gas lamp that is dedicated to the memory of St. Valentine. Every year there is lighting ceremony when the gas lamp is lit for the first time on 14th February. It is at the top of Catherine Hill.

I don't know the answer to that Amelia. I had never walked that far up Catherine Hill before, so it was a surprise for me to see the lamp! It does look very well cared for.

It was a nice surprise for me to find Doug. I looked up a few things about Frome before driving there, as I wanted to photograph something different from my usual pictures of the town. I have a couple more with a story behind them that I didn't know before.
