that's our mountain, part of the Cascade Range that goes down the west coast of the states. it is classic in shape - at least from our side of the mountain.

An interesting mix of the natural and the man-made landscape. The snow capped mountain makes a magnificent backdrop!

Yes, it is a crazy area. The Columbia river is definitely a working river in this part. The park doesn't shy away from that fact. We love our Mt. Hood. It's a beauty all times of year.

The Cascades ... beautiful beyond words.
And yes, the "working river"has to be the best title.

I was lucky when young to be able to take a 2 week camping trip along the Pacific Crest trail through the Cascades. Will never forget waking up to Mt. Jefferson filling the view from my tent opening (we had arrived at dusk and couldn't see it then).

Glad you like my 'working river' title. My husband usually labels my photos with words, he's a poet, but sometimes I get it right on my own *smile*.
