Stinking Iris Berries

Stinking Iris Berries
The Stinking Iris plant gets its name from the faint smell of rotten meat which you get if you rub
the leaves together . The berries are toxic to a lot of mammals including dogs and humans.

If left, the berries will stay on the plant all through winter. I'm trying to eradicate them from the garden so I dig up the plants as soon as I find them. I obviously missed this one :-)

Thanks Colin. As far as I know the berries aren't toxic to birds, but I've never seen them being eaten by a bird either!

Die rote Farbe könnte verlockend sein für Kinder. Insofern ist es gut, dass du sie entfernst. Aber fürs Foto eine tolle Farbe.
