Swans

Swans
In Chichester Harbour.

Sadly 30 swans were found dead in the harbour last week. The authorities say bird flu is to blame :-(

OH, c'est vraiment dommage. Ici ,tout les élevages de poules et de canards sont fermés par mesure de prévention.Celà commence a devenir difficile pour certains commerces. Selon la tradition Anglaise (enfin, je crois) les cygnes sont-ils toujours la propriété du Roi ?

Yes, it's very sad.........and it's not just swans that are affected :-(

Thanks for your interest Jean Paul. The same preventative measure are in for in the UK as well.

Technically, the Queen, so nor does our new King didn’t own them, but she had a right, passed down through the centuries, to claim them if she pleased, making her the de facto owner.

Swans were considered a great delicacy in the past though and were often captured for food.
