This is from the olden times, Fred, when you didn't have to stand on a drawing of a pair of feet wherever you went.

What a busy area..............even taking into account the lens compression, that's a lot of people in a relatively small face. Surprisingly (for me anyway) it's really engrossing as there's so much to look at.

A wonderful street candid John!

Thanks, Keith. It was quite a parade. The canopies on the floats could be lowered to pass under electricity wires (we call them hydro lines, not so sure what they're called elsewhere). And...this followed the Orange parade. I only got there in time for the tail end of that, but then this came along so I was quite happy.

Remember when it was fun to see how many people you could stuff into a Volkswagen? I haven't seen a street this packed since a holiday in Rome, by the Spanish Steps. I'm sure pickpockets abounded.

As Keith mentioned, the view is compressed, Bob, so it was a little less packed than it seems to be here. I was standing on a boulevard on the near side of the Yonge-College intersection using lots of zoom. Yes, I remember packing Volkswagens. I'm so old I remember packing sedan chairs (ba doomp boomp -- I'm here all week). Packing phone booths was popular, too, I recall. Now phone booths are on the brink of extinction. Young people -- they don't know what they're missing.

That's quite a crowd! Pre-covid distancing days. :-)

Ontario is taking halting steps back to those days, George. The last couple of times they tried it, though, we had another wave. Enough people are vaccinated, though, to give opening up a chance.

It's a good thing there are no Republicans in Canada, Sarah, or they probably would have struck a commission by now to verify the count.

Those are crowds of the past. They seem so strange today.

John FitzGerald club has replied to Esther club
They certainly do, Esther. One thing we've learned from the pandemic is that people really like to be together. I don't know, though, that we'll be as free and easy about crowds again all that soon.
