On board preserved former Ribble 1686 (NRN 586) - 25 May 2019 (P1020271)

Saturday 25 May 2019 – Preserved NRN 586, an MCW bodied Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 that was new to Ribble Motor Services as their 1686 in October 1960. A lower deck interior view of the bus. The Atlantean was perhaps one of the most revolutionary designs. The rear engine layout paved the way for the buses we know almost 60 years later. As a schoolboy when these buses were delivered to Ribble they were the epitome of modernity to a impressionable ten year old bus enthusiast!
