Marée basse vue depuis les falaises de St Jean-le-Thomas. Dans la baie du Mont-Saint-Michel ont lieu les plus grandes marées de l’Europe. Durant une grande marée, la mer se retire à 15 km des côtes et ensuite remonte très rapidement. La géographie particulière de ce lieu marque davantage l'amplitude des flots (près de 13 m les jours de fort coefficient).

During a high tide, the sea retreats 15 km from the coast and then rises very quickly.
