Lybster Harbour Light

The surrounds to this busy little harbour are beautifully maintained, with benches such as this provided at many advantage points, the light on the water is beautiful and the image it is well composed.

We looked at a holiday let that was in a lighthouse. It was quaite an exciting thought - until we realised the one room held table and chairs and a very low sofa, - which you had to turn into your bed at night!!! I am short and it was too low even for me. It was a nice idea while it lasted! It also made me realise that maybe I should not complain about how small our flat is!!!!

Another very nice harbour shot from your Scotland. I must have travelled through here pulling my caravan on the A9 but never stopped. A shame as it is clear I missed a most interesting harbour. Well done.

Well it is still a working fishing port so who knows, you could be right!! Although I think you are way off the mark with the hipster suggestion!!

Lybster itself is famous in its own way for the Hill O Many Stanes, basically a hill covered with over 200 stones in lines making a fan shape. It is thought that as many as 600 were used originally and it may date to the Bronze Age. They are not huge like standing stones really and nobody really knows whether they had a religious purpose or as some suggest it may be a type of astronomical observatory. So I guess it is famous for something that we know nothing about!!!
