Initial Crowdfunding Complete!

Day 15 and this is my final screenshot showing the total amount of money donated to the crowdfunding campaign managed by the Ipernity Members Association (IMA). As you can see 549 people supported the initiative and between them they raised the sum of $29,180.

And this is what that means when costs are taken into consideration as specified by William Sutherland from the IMA:

Final Figure: 0000 GMT 29 March 2017: $29,180.00
Less Processing Fees: 1,040.10
Less Bank Delivery Fee: 25.00

Net Total: $28,114.90

Now we just need to wait and see if the IMA are successful this week in reaching an agreement with Ipernity SA for them to take over the platform.

Let's hope that the monies raised goes a way towards convincing Ipernity SA that the site does indeed have a future if they allow the community to take over the platform.

Indeed that's all we can do Tess. Thanks BTW for flagging up the fact that I'd accidentally disabled commenting on this one.

I've now corrected that along with the broken link I spotted a moment ago. Apologies for the sloppy workmanship ... that'll teach me to try and post in a hurry going out the door - lol! ;)

Thanks for the info Paul and all your efforts to keep the crowd funding efforts going.

I still think that 549 is a disappointingly low amount of people who donated and it doesn't bode well for the future.

I'm hoping we'll be okay keeping it going. I did my part on donating. I figured after the Flickr fiasco and moving here I was set.

If this collapses, then I'm done with on-line photo posting. Captions, tagging and time posting the photos isn't too worth it if can be taken away in an instant.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean and others have made similar comments. It really does appear that the only way to perhaps prevent it all disappearing is for the site to be community owned, but even then nothing is guaranteed! :(
