1950 Buick Super - DSK 490

1950 Buick Super - DSK 490
In trying to determine if this was a Roadmaster or a Super I read that the holes you see on the side of the bonnet are called VentiPorts. Apparently, the Roadmaster had four of these on each side whereas the Super only had three so without looking any further I was able to deduce it is indeed a Super.

What's that old saying about you learn something new every day?

Diane Putnam, Gerda, , and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Great find and photo! True ... unless it's a silver Honda! :-) They stick those things on Hondas to make them look different!

I hate to confuse things, but the Buick "Special" model also had 3 VentiPorts on each side.
They usaully have the model name (Roadmaster, Super, or Special) above the side trim on the front fenders, but that one seems to have the scripts removed.
I really like the Jetback body style, the color, and the tons of chrome on this one. Nicely captured !! : ]

Thanks Ian for the info, I'd forgotten about the Special. Things would be so much simpler if folks would leave the damn badges on! ;)
