1972 Ford Capri Mk1 3000 GXL - SGN 898L

1972 Ford Capri Mk1 3000 GXL - SGN 898L
I just love the Ford Capri, especially the Mk1 facelift model like this one with the twin headlights. If ever I was going to swap my old Scirocco for something from the Seventies or Eighties I can imagine it might be a Capri.

, Indycaver (Norm), Erik Baas have particularly liked this photo

Great photo and find! This car arrived here as a Mercury ... and that was probably the reason I didn't see very many of them. Mercury was far more focused on selling the big cars!

Thanks Norm. Interesting comment on the imports, can't say I liked the look of them with those big US bumpers. However, I did like the later ones you had over there that were based around the Mustang.

The big bumpers arrived here in 1974, but prior to that we would have still had the chrome. :-) We still had cheap gas through 1977 and the bigger the car or truck the better! Mercury just did not have the distribution Ford did with it's number of dealers.
