We are. At least as far as your comment goes here and now. I, too, hate to hate and are aware that hate is not the answer. Another thing is keeping it at bay. It's impossible not to hate some people (most politicians come, unbidden, to mind; also transnational CEOs and Milton Freedman...:-) ) and some things/practices (pick your own examples). In fact is not even right not to hate them. But shouting at each other and calling each other names gets us nowhere, indeed. Unfortunately this is precisely what politicians do, mostly. As for dialogue, they seem to think it's a dirty word, or a "sign of weakness" or something. And so it goes... We're going to hell in a shopping trolley.
