Inverting
As a way of putting off writing a check and sending my FORM 1040-ES (OCR) to the Infernal Revenue Service, -for at least a few more minutes, I did the quick pastel sketch of Fujusan, Mount Fuji.
As I said before, I'm playing around with creating images using complementary colors (creating a negative image) and then digitally inverting then so the the colors become their opposites, making it a positive image.
It's quite interesting, learning to see, with my mind's eye, how an image will look when inverted. I've still quite a bit of learning to do, note the blue areas on the sides of the mountain when I inadvertently left too much unblended yellow visible in the original drawing.
Soft pastel on 12 by 12 inch card stock, the second image a digital invert of the first.
