MER[23] - goods motor No.26 {4 of 4}
Driver's gate giving access to the platform [sole survivor of the original pattern]
This is the sole survivor of a batch of 4 built in 1895 by Milnes [visually very similar to vehicles built at the same time as passenger cars for the MER & SMR] numbered as Cars 10 to 13.
They were not a success as they were unglazed and open-sided. They were converted to goods use - as cattle cars ? - and painted all-over freight grey and numbered with the freight stock. This vehicle was in the small museum in Ramsey Plaza for some years.

This vehicle was in the small museum at Ramsey Plaza for some years, it is now [I believe] privately owned. Repainted for an appearance in the transport festival [July 2023] and now in storage at Laxey.
