Fort William Scotland 8th August 2014
It's midnight on shed at Fort William and under starry skies Thompson K1 2-6-0 62005 is gently smoking away in preparation for working the Jacobite to Mallaig the following day.

This is surely one of your best shots; you must be delighted with it. This is probably in my top 5 photos EVER. It's moody, dirty, interesting, clever, peaceful and elegant and the trains aren't even moving !! The light, although man-made, has a kinda natural look to it and I'd love to know you made the photo SMELL of steam and smoke.
Congratulations on this one; it was worth the long journey and I'm sorry it's only possible to "favourite" the shot once. Pure class !!
