Shenfield Essex 4th August 2019
I'm not a bus-lover but this brought back childhood memories.
At North Weald we transferred to 1950-built Green Line RT 3238, registration KYY 967, for the journey back to Epping LT station. We then decided to go the whole hog and stay onboard to sample the journey by RT to Shenfield station on the Liverpool Street to Ipswich main line.
In what looks like an everyday scene RT 3238 emerges from under the main line railway bridge on Hutton Road by Shenfield station. For a 69 year old vehicle it felt modern inside and was very smooth running.

Manchester Victoria station 8th June 1968
Manchester Victoria station and Black 5 4-6-0 45076 stands on the banker's road waiting to give a push to the next freight train up the I in 47 max. gradient to Miles Platting.
The atmosphere of a large UK city station with steam was still a daily reality back in early June 1968 but by the end of June the last Manchester sheds at Newton Heath & Patricroft were closed to steam.

HFF - Great Central Railway Loughborough Leicestershire 3rd November 2019
Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go.
We were on our way to relieve Neil & Jon on Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48305 when we saw the train arriving in platform 1. Considering it had left for Leicester over 10 minutes late this took us a bit by surprise.
The impressive line up of steam engines in shed road 3 is matched by the impressive line up of diesel engines in the Up Through which includes Class 25 D5185 and Class 37 37714 seen here.
HFF everyone and have a great weekend.

Great Central Railway Loughborough Leicestershire 10th November 2019
British Railways Standard 9F 2-10-0 92214 makes a fine sight departing Loughborough with the late running 12.50 to Leicester North. Bill was clearly trying to make up time and he succeeded because we relieved him and Lee the fireman dead on time at 14.05 back at Loughborough.
