Stokes Bay Line (10) - 25 May 2015

Stokes Bay Line (10) - 25 May 2015
The Stokes Bay Line on the Gosport peninsula was a short branch from the Fareham to Gosport line which opened in 1863 and closed as long ago as 1915. In spite of the passage of time, much of the 1½ miles is accessible today as a cycle and pedestrian path.

This is the view south across the Little Anglesey Viaduct which carried the tracks across Stoke Lake towards Stokes Bay.
