Butterfly Girl

Note: This work of art was created from garbage that included fabric flowers, a fabric butterfly broach, a baby girl’s pink shoe, a rubber stopper, and broken plastic from a discarded fan, nails and metal coil. The mangled metal coil represents the girl’s hair. An azalea blossom is included in her hair to represent femininity and the beauty of life; a butterfly hovers over another flower to represent peace and harmony. “White space” represents the flower beneath the butterfly and a significant part of the baby girl’s shoe to go against artistic conformity and break rules. The colors were chosen to project vibrance.
