Holiday Cheer

I used to go ice skating when I was young, William, but was never very proficient. I wouldn't do it now - too afraid of breaking a bone or two. ;-)

I did it a lot when I was younger so I'm kind of fortunate that when I put on skates, I still have the necessary balance. I agree, no one wants to break a bone and even when you don't, the falls are embarrassing!

A lot of tourists who don't skate too well skate at Toronto City Hall and have a great time trying to maintain their balance. I see the atmosphere at Rockefeller Centre is a lot like the atmosphere at Toronto City Hall -- lots of people enjoying themselves. Engaging photos and an interesting treatment.

I think urban outdoor rinks have a special atmosphere. Thank you John!

It's too bad I have to include this image to mar the joy in my photo because of the New Year's Day terrorist attack in Turkey. In this image, compiled from free clip art, an image of the blowing dandelion seeds purchased from Shutterstock (which resemble New Year's Day fireworks and serve as a symbol of remembrance) and a photo I took in NYC on January 1, 2017 I included the universal symbol of impotence. Those that join ISIS are impotent -- that's why they feel compelled to violate human rights, suppress individuality and freedom, subjugate women and slaughter defenseless innocents under their sick ideology. It's the only way these weak cowards can feel strong and a sense of masculinity. As they ruined New Year's Day that should be filled with love and unity, with renewed hopes for peace and tolerance, strong condemnation and rejection of their sick ideology is the only way to respond to these depraved cowards. While we're one world and one humanity united against their sick ideology, they are one world driven by the fires of hell. It's time they stop pretending to be Muslims and express their true thoughts which are expressed by their actions -- "to hell with Muhammed and Allah!" What fun pictures! Everyone is having such a good time. I love your processing, it adds character and interest. I haven't been ice skating in years...I used to have birthday parties at the San Francisco ice rink when I was a kid...fun stuff!
