Hi Nick,

What can we say here.. "A window on the world" maybe, or "Well framed"...
I like it anyway!!!

Best Wishes

No wonder the artists collect in St.Ives. Nicely framed.

Well I had a blank canvass dear LGM :))) x Seriously the light around the tip of Cornwall is often fantastic & I guess accommodation was fairly cheap for impoverished artists ~~~ No doubt other reasons too x

Well hello dear Nick, you have placed me right here in the middle of this window and I can see the lovely view you captured :) I feel like Im standing right there. A well thought out shot Nick, captured so well.. The sea is so pretty and blue underneath the lighter shade of the sky!

Who was showing?

Patrick Heron was the main feature, not an artist that I particularly enjoy, but there was some good stuff hidden away in some of the other rooms including a John Wells & a Graham Sutherland

I knew him. He lived at Eagle's Nest on the hill above Zennor. He occasionally involved himself with the odd village activity. My great aunt knew him well as she ran the Tinner's Arms pub in the village and she got to know all the artists in the community which was a thriving one in the 50s and 60s. I like his work! Just as I love the work of John Wells and especially of Graham Sutherland who is one of my all time favourites!

One of my former wives was an artist living in Penzance, she has now moved to Scotland

Ah!! Is that your original connection with Cornwall!?

Nick Weall club has replied to Andy Rodker club
No ~ My father was an engineering pilot Fleet Air Arm and for a was time was stationed at Culdrose. We lived in North Dorset then and went down to Cornwall a couple of times in the holidays. He previously had been at Ford and later at Yeovilton

I see! I once knew a few personnel at Culdrose, both from local connections and from clients of mine in the Forces who were posted there from bases nearer London.
Have a good rest of the weekend with wife number 4!!
