Downtown City of Truro on the first really bright day this Spring. The cathedral sits on a very slight rise; enough for it to dominate the town (sorry ... 'city'!)
Moon, Mars, and St Day marketplace clocktower.

I just liked the contrast between the trees and the (almost) modern buildings (which always lean like this ... don't they?).
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl2bvKPOIO4&t=764s Janis Joplin at her best, or close to it.
Another HFF and in the nick of time!

Uploaded at 23:59!!! Here it is at the very last second on Friday!
It's a name I always forget but some luminaries are buried here. I'll add the appropriate info in a day or so; tomorrow I return to Madrid.
Here we are, 3 days later: Panteon des Hombres Illustres. (Near Atocha).
Jan 2020. Different times. We hadn't really heard of Covid 19 back then although now it's known that the laboratory leakage had already occured at the Wuhan institute back in August 2019 (and apparently another strain also leaked from there a few weeks later - and nothing whatsoever to do with a wet-fish market).
The Faro of Madrid and The Museum of the Americas.…

A walk between medical appointments and I suddenly realised it was Thursday and time to think about finding an HFF shot! This walkway is sited on an old tramway, the tracks still appear here and there.
Update on the stadium. HANWE Everyone!

I've missed a lot and I don't think I like it much compared to the old iconic stadium! I'll probably post one more when completed and leave it at that!
Another storm approaching! Will they ever end?

Algete street scene no. 18.
Calle de Paloma - one of the three main streets in Algete, looking down to the main square and parish church., caught in the last of today's sunlight.
Maybe worth a look on large.
Torre Picasso.

Once the tallest building in Spain (between 1988 and 2007, when the four towers were nearing completion). I'm fond of it. I probably took more classes here than in any one other building in my teaching career in Madrid.
I currently live here. A view of Valderrey. Algete…

The house is indicated here (top right). It sits on the top of a ridge and commands extensive views over the countryside of the Jarama Valley and the distant Sierra de Guadarrama. It also affords views of some spectacular weather!

Algete is fairly hilly so there are plenty of alternative steps where I can take my exercise. This one boasts only 45 fairly gentle steps but when I add it to some of the other more serious flights, it all counts!
Streets of Algete no. 21.

Our 'posh' neighbours like to think they are living in, or more likely, ruling over some Near-or-Middle-East potentate!
Streets of Algete No. 22. 2nd of three tonight.
Maggie suggests 'excellent on large' and, as usual, Maggie is right!

This won my 'Best-dressed Bollard of the Year Award' back in 2018. I passed by it again yesterday but it wasn't quite up to scratch so I post another of the shots I took back then, simply because I like it!
I'LL BE OFF-LINE FOR A FEW DAYS WHILE MY LAPTOP IS IN DRY DOCK FOR ESSENTIAL REPAIRS. CAPACITY ISSUES TOO (PHOTOS!)
I HOPE TO BE BACK IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING THIS COMING WEDNESDAY..

Algete street scene 24. Broadly similar to a post last year but with one big difference. The trees last year threw many shadows across the road. Now they've all been chopped down. Not sure why, but on looking at one or two of the stumps, perhaps some form of longhorn beetle larva (I've seen similar in other places). Anyway ANOTHER storm on the way and I got home just in time!
BTW, someone (who shall remain nameless - she meant no harm), deleted the cable from this.shot. I prefer it in and kept it in for the purpose of compositional balance. Please don't amend my photos without my permission for whatever reason. Thank you!

An oldie for sure but I didn't have time to investigate my new cameraphone further today.
