Tres Cantos railway station. Storm approaching from the Sierra de Guadarrama.

Tres Cantos railway station. Storm approaching from the Sierra de Guadarrama.
I wanted to emphasise the colour contrasts with the the light and the darkness of the approaching storm!

Thank you, Ron. A deliberate over-saturation!

Oh wow Andy, that is one big storm on its way - time to seek shelter by the look of things. You certainly emphasised the colour contrasts - wonderful photo

Thank you, Jenny.
I remember hoping I would make it home before the storm broke as I had neither coat nor umbrella (th storm hadn't been forecast). The train came some minutes later, 20 minutes after that I was in Madrid and on the metro, and half an hour after that I was walking from metro station to my flat, a 10 minute walk. Just as I got to the front door the heavens opened. Talk about lucky timing!

I love the weird light you sometimes get when a storm is approaching...........and this is a fine example. It's really brought out the colours in the rest of the shot too. Nicely done Andy!

Thanks Keith. I wanted to get the red of the sign and also get the railway line vanishing point but I couldn't successfully manage both in the time available. A second after I took this, the sun went in behind the clouds. I took one step to the right for another shot but I was too late, the whole effect I wanted to capture had gone!

Hi Andy, I love to do this too. I like it even better with a great landscape but this railway scene with the red signs works well too. Great job.

Perhaps an approaching train might have been the icing on the cake but it was not to be at that particular moment! Thank you, Herb!
