Gut gesehen Ron!
RHH club has replied to Valfal clubWe have Ponderosas all around us with their long needles and believe me they do shed. We have trouble keeping up with all the needles sometimes and because they are so long (7-8 inches) and in tufts of two or three they catch on everything.
When I see what you offer us I do believe there is good people around.

Thanks for your long comment on my dahlia picture, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) However, I'm sorry to hear that winter refuses to give up its stronghold in your neck of the woods. I bet it won't be long now! I will say that I would feel just as you do. I was feeling very tired of OUR weather, which wasn't anywhere near as extreme as what you've been having.
Yeah, UPS's just don't seem to be very useful, I agree. But the fact that they keep power from blasting out our devices--even if they don't hold a confounded charge--makes them tolerable...barely. Idiotic things. *grumble*
I can totally understand you not wanting to set foot outside in sloppy, cold, miserable weather. I gave up on going outside for many chunks of days because of that very reason, but thankfully I'm back to my daily walk, which is so vital to my happiness and health as well!
Your latest cooking exploits sound fabulous...I expect your house smells soooooo good all the time! :D It's one of the fringe benefits of enjoying excellent food! :D Our house smells marvelous every day too! :D (We got a wonderful piece of trout from Costco the other day and will finish it tomorrow...pan fried with various yummy spices, green onion, mushrooms and butter...soooo good! (Broccoli and mushrooms sauteed in butter and garlic for the side...nom nom nom nom!)
Thanks too for telling me about your birdy visitors! Quail are around but they never get close to the house. I don't know about Fox Sparrows--oh, they're cute! Just looked them up to see--we don't get them here. But we do get nuthatches, we love them!
You inspired me to take our bacon grease and use it as a base for suet! We got mixed bird seed and a bag of black oil sunflower seeds, a jar of crunchy peanut butter, some oats, flour, a little bit of sugar and mixed it together, pressed it into a deep-sided cookie sheet x 2 and popped them into the fridge...we now have home made suet for the birdies and finally seeds in the feeders! Scrub Jays, Stellar Jays, Acorn Woodpeckers, Pewees, Oregon Juncos, Spotted Towees, California Towees have all been seen enjoying the goodies! Kind of surprised that the finches haven't descended on the feeders--we should be seeing House, Lesser Golds, and Americans, and also, we'll likely see Nuthatches and various sparrows too. The neighborhood is still learning that there are seeds and suet to eat here!
Ok, I'm out! Here's hoping that spring will arrive when it's supposed to...6 more days! A switch will flip and just like that you'll have no snow and flowers will be everywhere! Well, we can hope! :D
HFF..............Happy weekend:)
