Okay folks, having been in the administrator's chair so to speak for a while now, I thought I’d do what I've done in the other groups I've started and post a welcome to anyone visiting and hopefully going on to join this particular group.

My name’s Paul and I’m what has become known as a flickr refugee.

I just couldn’t take to the so called improvements they introduced this summer, so I started looking at what else was available and ended up here though it’s going to take me a while to get my photos uploaded.

Basically, I love cars of any type/age though I do have a special love for hotrods, which I first got interested in way back in the late 1970’s. Sadly, I’ve never gotten around to building one, mainly because I have high standards and a very limited budget

These days my main interest is the Mk2 Scirocco. I got my first one, which we called Poppy, way back in 1992 and had it until just a few years ago. I currently own a low mileage GT built in 1987, which we call Lily and which I love photographing … as regular visits to this group will find out!

Anyway, like I say I just wanted to post a welcome to any new visitors and to say a big thank you to all those that have supported the group so far.

But hey, let's not rest on our laurels. Please do keep those submissions coming, but bear in mind any low quality 'phone type snaps' will be deleted as will any that bring with them a trail of unnecessary 'spam' and that includes as far as this group is concerned 'flag counters', 'awards', 'flashing icons' and 'seen in' statements.

I know some groups welcome all that, but I find it all a bit unnecessary and messy. To me it's nice when someone stops to say they like one of my photos or that it has brought back some memories. However, I'm not really interested where they saw it and certainly don't enjoy wading through umpteen pieces of spam to find the real genuine comments.

So, keep your submissions spam free, but like I say please do keep them coming.

Regards

PAUL
