This rule "one per week" is nonsens, unfortunately. It counts the duration exactly since the last upload. So if you made your upload last friday 22:00 e.g., you will be able to upload your next HFF image only after 22:00. So every friday it will be later and later until one will not be able to upload on a certain friday anymore.

It's the same now with the group "Hall of fame". Also there the rule "one per week" is now established suddenly, "to increase quality". I don't know, why quality should increase because of that.

Das Charakteristikum jeder 'Hall of Fame' ist ihre Diversität. So sind beispielsweise in der weltweit ersten 'Hall of Fame' die Büsten von 98 geehrten Amerikanern ausgestellt - nicht 98 Büsten desselben Amerikaners.

Eine IPERNITY Hall of Fame sollte also auch nicht viele Beiträge von Wenigen haben, sondern eher wenige Beiträge von Vielen. Die von der Administratorin der Gruppe eingeführte Limitierung ist qualitätssteigernd, weil sie (langfristig) dazu führt, dass das Qualitätsmerkmal 'Diversität' besser erfüllt wird als bisher.

Wen stören eigentlich die 3 oder 4 Personen, die mal 2-3 Bilder einstellen? Uns scheinbar nicht...ich kann ja weiter gehen...

Just after 7 x 24 hours I was able to upload again.

Now the same rule applies to the group "Hall of fame". It was fun having been a member of that group for 13 years. Now I will stop posting photos there.

As you will have noticed, the upload limit has now been changed to 5/month which should get rid of the problem in most cases. We'll see how this will work out in a month with 5 Fridays...

Good news, Gudrun. The best solution would be "one per calender week", but I doubt, that this feature works in our software system. The problem is, that "one on friday" and "one per week" doesn't work together. The similar problem exists with groups with the rule "one per day". This should also work as "one per calender day", but it works with the exact time and 24 hours. Thank you!

Yes, the problem is in the programming, one per week always counts from the exact day and date you have posted your last photo. There's nothing we can do about that, we just have to find a way around it.

In that case, we can raise it to 6 for this Friday, e.g. in April, July, October, December

You have a function that allows sending an ipermail to all members. I think you should use it to inform people of changes, it is very annoying and disappointing to be confronted with the accomplished fact like it was for me and a few others this week.

Ich bin dafür die vorherige Regel wieder einzuführen. Ich kann heute früh kein Bild hochladen, nur weil ich letzte Woche das Bild erst abends nach der Arbeit hochgeladen habe. Gefühlt habe ich nur noch 4 Wochen die Möglichkeit je ein Bild in die Gruppe zu laden, weil dann der Zeithorizont von 24:00 Uhr überschritten ist. Das kann doch nicht der Sinn der Beschränkungen sein! Überdenkt die jetztige Regel bitte noch einmal, denn ich weiß nicht ob ih es heute abend schaffe, meinen Beitrag in die Gruppe zu stellen.

As Xata said, there is a new tool to inform the group members. It is on the group administration page under title:

Message
Send a message to all members. It will reside in your ipermail, and not be linked to the group.

There are links to pick all admins, mods, and/or members. But one can also start writing the account name(s) of selected people, and then send the message to those only.

Und jetzt hat dieses Problem anscheinend auch mich erwischt. Alle kritischen Beiträge dazu, die ja schon ein Jahr alt sind, haben offenbar nichts genützt. Das ist ärgerlich!

I followed the rules and attempted to submit a single photo on Friday, March 18, at 0:05AM California time. I was greeted with: You can't add any photos in the group HFF - HAPPY FENCE FRIDAY for the time being. (You've reached the quota of authorized contributions decided by the group).

My last submission (accepted) was Thursday, March 10 at 11:52PM California time - also complying with group rules.

Scott I have just noted its was changed from 12 a month to one a week. I have changed it the biggest problem is the internal Ipernity clock that judges the time we a held to account by.

I have never attempted to submit more than one photo per week, including the one that I attempted to submit Friday, March 18 at 0:05AM (California - Daylight Savings time), seven days and some minutes after the previous submission on Thursday March 10 at 11:52PM. Both were submitted following the group rules as written by the administrator.
I share the opinion with many others in this group that such inflexible rules that even confuse the "ipernity Clock" do not reflect the spirit of the meaning of Happy Fence Friday.

Scott you can do some thing about it The current group of administrators volunteered to step in and look after this group before it was deleted by Ipernity as it had no administrator. we have looked after this group for 3 years time someone else stepped forward and try to look after this group.

Same happens to me, I posted once a week this month so 3 entries and I have the n reached quota message as I tried to post today…

try again I have changed to 6 a month to over come this internal time lag of Ipernity clock. please let me know if it works

Warum kann ich schon wieder nicht mein Foto in diese Gruppe hochladen??? Ihr erlasst strenge Diktatorregeln und obwohl man sich genau daran hält, bekommt man sein Foto nicht in die Gruppe eingestellt. Also entweder Ihr lasst die Beschränkung, oder Ihr sorgt dafür, dass jemand der sich dran hält, auch sein Foto einstellen kann. Das kann doch nicht so schwer sein!!!
Es ist nach 23.30 am Donnerstag, denn es ist schon Freitag und ich schwöre beim Leben meiner Großmutter, diese Woche noch kein Foto in diese strengste Gruppe auf Erden hochgeladen zu haben! So tut was! Letzte Woche musste ich das Foto der Vorwoche aus der Gruppe nehmen, damit es klappt. Heute eröffnet mir diese Wundergruppe nicht mal diese Möglichkeit!!!???

Meins ist auch nicht zu sehen, gestern war es zu früh und würde wieder gelöscht werden, heute morgen (5.47Uhr) habe ich keine Zeit mehr, muss jetzt los. Aber auf meine Knipserei kann man gerne verzichten.

Ging bei mir auch nicht. Hat wohl mit der Zeit zu tun, in der man sein Foto in der vergangenen Woche eingestellt hat. Man darf beim nächsten Mal nicht früher... oder so. Eigentlich Schade, das hier war immer meine Lieblingsgruppe. Dann bleiben meine mit viel Liebe gemachten Zaundetailfotos eben bei mir und sindb auch dort nur für Freunde sichtbar. Schade!

Ich habs letzte Woche eh nicht geschafft, da vor zwei Wochen erst spät abends hochgeladen - und diese Woche ging gar nix, nur auf einen Gruppenvorschlag hin...

Wenn ich das hier alles so lese, bekomme ich den Eindruck, dass es nicht darum geht, ein Zaunfoto hochzuladen…andere damit zu grüßen, zu erfreuen, sich als aktives Mitglied der Gruppe zu melden, sondern darum, wie es so schwer wie möglich gemacht wird! Lasst doch bitte diese unsinnige Regelung mit den Zeiten bzw nehmt die Regelung raus, dass man seit Foto nicht vor der Uhrzeit der Vorwoche einstellen kann und lockert bitte großzügig die Zeiten! Wir sind hier noch nicht alle Rentner mit Schlafstörungen, die es ermöglicht, zu unsinnigen Zeiten hochzuladen! Wo bleibt der Spaß und die Toleranz mit denen, die das hier ambitioniert sehen?

This is how Rob stamp explained the Ipernity clock to me and how it effects us.This was at the start of our volunteering to look after this group.

This group follows the international date line for our Thursday night or Friday. So my opening at 8pm Thursday western standard time in Australia is 2 pm in Paris. So how can it ever be that people in Europe can't put a photo in at 2300 hour their time Thursday..not unless some one is closing the group we dont know of...or you are affected by the two foibles of Ipernity below.. Erika closes the group in more of less the very same way as well on the outside Of "Friday". not sure what she picks as her end time for Friday.

If we choose to put in one photo of a fence each week we face two choices or foibles with the internal Ipernity clock.

Foible number one. The Ipernity clock weekly. set one photo a week.

With the limit set as one "a week" you have to choose your time, say 6 am your time on Friday week one you can do that. week two 6:00 am you will not be able to put in a photo as it will be within the "one week Ipernity clock" and you will get a message saying so, week two you will have to put your photo in "Say" 6:02am. week three will be the very same you want to put your photo in 6 am you are under the "weekly clock." so you will have to put your photo in 6:04am. and so on for the rest of the of time. I was not told what the time difference was I am just using an example, work out just how far you weekly time then moves away from 6:00 am

Foible number two. The Ipernity monthly clock Set on 6 photos a month.

If we choose that there some months that have 5 weeks we need to add an extra number to get the photo in with out getting the message you can not add any more photos. This means you will be able to put you chosen photo in at 6 am Friday each week with out getting an error message. BUT it comes unstuck if you chose to put in three photo for the first week and you then where going to add two the next week. You very fast run out of photos to add in your 5 weeks for that month you will only be able to add week three one photo the next two weeks you will get an error message. If you add one photo each week you will have an easy month add more than one they will stop you at the end of the month with error messages. This is the best option to follow of one a week but you come unstuck putting in multi photos.

As you can all of this is out of control of the administrators we just have to live with it. At all turns we have tried to what is best for this group. Both Erika and myself are under outside stress with our own lives we are both happy to step down and some one else step up and take control of the group. I promised the Ipernity board I would not just walk away but try and get some one to look after the group. So if you are up to looking after a divers group that covers the world. please put you name forward in the main discussion group.

Nicht die Admins haben "eine unsinnige Regelung" erschaffen, sondern die Software zählt eine Woche als 7 x 24 x 60 Minuten. 1 Bild pro Woche heißt: Nach genau 10.080 Minuten kann man das nächste Bild hochladen. Das ist nichts Neues. Es ist seit 2013 so, als diese Software in Betrieb ging.

Dasselbe Phänomen tritt übrigens auch bei "1 Bild pro Tag" auf. Man kann nämlich nicht abends um 23 Uhr ein Bild hochladen, und am nächsten Morgen das nächste. Die Software wartet immer 24 Stunden ab, bevor der nächste Upload freigegeben wird.

Die immer wieder auftretende Verwirrung kommt daher, dass die Intervalle im Menü der Gruppenadministration missverständlich benannt sind. Klarer wäre:

1 Beitrag pro Tag alle 24 Stunden
1 Beitrag pro Woche alle 7 Tage
1 Beitrag pro Monat alle 30 Tage

Solch eine klarere Benennung würde zwar nicht unser Problem lösen, aber weniger Missverständnisse verursachen.

Ich möchte dem ima-Team vorschlagen, über eine Umbenennung der Intervalle nachzudenken.

Ergänzend:

Ich möchte außerdem die Admins in Schutz nehmen. Nicht sie machen hier eine Regel, sondern wir haben haben in dieser Gruppe miteinander eine Vereinbarung. Diese heißt: Ein Bild freitags.

Erwachsenen Menschen sollte man zutrauen, Vereinbarungen auch ohne technische Hilfsmittel einhalten zu können.
