Group: HFF - HAPPY FENCE FRIDAY

2. Post late Thursday night, (not before 23.30 h your Time Zone) or Friday (Your time zone). NOT SATURDAY to THURSDAY

the group is closed outside of this time I ( Australia) open the group as I am close to international date line my time on Thursday around 8pm. this allows the rest of the group to put entries in as there are people who are ahead of me by time in NZ and the other side of Australia. I know that Erika closes the group some time on Saturday her time (Germany) exactly what time I am not sure.

the idea is the photos are to be put in the group on Friday only as it is Happy Fence Friday not at other days of the week. you will notice Erika puts up a stop photo and closes the group off so no more photos can be added. I am not sure what happened why you could not add a photo other than it was outside time and was closed off or some thing happened with Ipernity. we had to take this step as photos where appearing on days other than Friday.

I hope this helps you understand how we are trying to work this problem of "Friday " time.

My unsuccessful attempt to insert a photo on Friday 5th occurred when only 3 photos had been inserted in that date, all of them in Australia: yours, George's and Diana's. Perhaps I wasn't the only one unable to participate within my own Friday time. But I had no more occasion in that Friday and others may have done it some hours later.
I think each user's time zone is not necessarily the same of his/her address: anyone can be outside home, in a different time zone, and still able to access Ipernity normally. The stop photo should be put up when it becomes Saturday in Alaska and Hawaii.

This rule "one per week" is nonsens, unfortunately. It counts the duration exactly since the last upload. So if you made your upload last friday 22:00 e.g., you will be able to upload your next HFF image only after 22:00. So every friday it will be later and later until one will not be able to upload on a certain friday anymore.

It's the same now with the group "Hall of fame". Also there the rule "one per week" is now established suddenly, "to increase quality". I don't know, why quality should increase because of that.

The rules have been changed to 5 per month which should get rid of the current problems with time of upload. Should new problems arise in months with 5 Fridays we'll have to try and tweak the system once more.
