This old tree only flowers and bears fruit every other year. The pears are big and juicy and are wonderful dessert pears. Hoping the blossom sets and there is a crop this year.

Redbud Tree
|
|
|
|
Redbuds are the Oklahoma State Tree.
They grow wild in the woodlands and this time of year(generally every other year) the woods get a pinky red haze of the flowering trees scattered in them.
Its a brittle wood.. the trees dont have pretty shapes or live long lives. But... whilst they do.. they are beautiful .
This is a wild sown one in the garden probably 15-20 years old.

Her Spring Dress 19-4-2014
This is the second of 4 eventual seasonal photos of her
This Cottonwood is around 80-100 years old and is huge ..... probably 90 -100 feet tall..... and is growing about 2 miles away and I love her.
She has an amazingly charmed life because most trees in this State are ice damaged... and she is barely touched. I have wanted to take a "Four Seasons" of her..
This is her Spring Dress.
Her Winter one is in the photo Note (top Right)

These little horrors "farm" the Cacti and suck the life out of them to almost... but not quite... death. They leave enough for it to grow the next year !
