This place is not really very popular with tourism, tourist presences are still very low, especially if compared with the nearby city of Matera. Castelmezzano is however a beautiful village, already awarded among the most beautiful villages of Italy. it is very probable that the tourist demand will grow a lot in the future, given to many tourist newspapers around the world put it as an unmissable destination.

Ti ringrazio per avermi fatto conoscere questo villaggio, che è un vero e proprio gioiello...non sono mai stata in Basilicata e me ne vergogno...ma è tra le mete della mia lunga lista!
La luce qui illumina il borgo esaltandone l'architettura e le rocce dolomitiche sembrano custodirlo, proprio come si fa con i tesori. Bellissima.

Grazie nuovamente Adele per essere passata in visita, è sempre un grande onore per me.
Avevo individuato i borghi di Castelmezzano e Pietrapertosa tra i borghi più belli d'Italia e così mi ero ripromesso di passare in visita alla prima occasione che mi trovassi al Sud. Sono stato a Matera e così sono passato a visitare questi due borghi, dove ho trascorso due bellissime giornate. Sono tranquilli, ma bellissimi. Due vere gemme che meritano di essere visitate, ma che fortunatamente non sono ancora battute dal turismo di massa.
