"Castel Meur", certainement la petite maison la plus célèbre de toute la Bretagne. Construite en 1861 par un Breton que les vents et les tempêtes n’effrayaient pas, elle tourne le dos à la mer, enchâssée entre 2 énormes blocs de granit et a résisté aux éléments depuis un siècle et demi. "Castel Meur", certainly the most famous little house in Brittany. Built in 1861 by a Breton that the winds and storms did not frighten, it turns its back to the sea, set between two huge blocks of granite and has withstood the elements for a century and a half.

The alignment of MONTENEUF is truly an exceptional site.

2° site mégalithique après Carnac : à MONTENEUF , c'est la rencontre des plus nombreux alignements de menhirs de Bretagne intérieure : on dénombre 420 monolithes et 42 pierres redressées !

The chapel with its white walls , still used today as a landmark for sailors, was built at the beginning of 17th C. as an expression of devotion, to beg Sainte Barbe for protections agains the dagers incurred by the boats and sailors. The "Johnnies" sailing from Roscoff to sell their onions on the other side of the Channel never failed to salute the saint by hoisting their flags three times.

Le jardin exotique de Roscoff présente environ 3500 espèces et variétés de plantes originaires de l’hémisphère sud. Flâner près du bassin peuplé de poissons rouges, de la fontaine nichée au creux des fougères arborescentes ou écouter le bruissement de l’eau près de la cascade, apportera une note de fraicheur à la visite. Big remains of the former cathedral St Pierre... (today Saint Malo). Aleth Cathedral was established in the 9th c., then destroyed by Norman invaders in the 10th c. but later rebuilt. The site of Aleth however was not a secure one and the town of Saint-Malo had begun to grow up on a far more defensible site on a rocky islet in the estuary. In 1146 the seat of the bishopric of Aleth was moved to Saint-Malo. Competition with the new town came to a head in 1255, when resentment in Aleth at the tax demands of St-Malo resulted in armed conflict. Aleth lost, and the walls, fortress and church were dismantled as punishment. The former cathedral ruins are still to be seen in the commune of Saint-Servan which occupies the area of the former Aleth. Grands restes de l'ancienne cathédrale St Pierre d'Aleth...
