Good to see you here again Peter. You see why I believe this month to be my best for photography. Such golds as this, stills our hearts. I had believed it finished today, but on a quick five minutes outing I could see the lighting on the yellow leaves still abounding.

I have wondered through these trees here now for many years and have yet to see one but I do see many squirrels and dogs. A great place, all the same.

This is a magical shot Herb...............the light, the dappled shadows, the golden light and warm colours.............all come together beautifully and are further enhanced by the contrasting dark of the tree trunks and branches and the fences. Beautifully composed sir!

Another HFF of the week from you for this one Keith. what can I say? I know that you enjoy my pictures here and so I try hard to make them worthwhile to see. This was a great day and I had thought that it would be all gone, but a quick trip along our railway line, just two minutes before the heavens opened revealed the trees still with their beautiful golden crowns. So more Autumn shots still possible. - Yes it all came together and even though I have shot this fence quite a few times over the years, this was perhaps the best lit of them. A big CHEERS from me.

I miss autumn in Europe (sigh.) Well -- those kind of days, anyway ;-)

I would miss this experience of our special Autumns if I lived away from them. Next year I shall visit the NE of the US in Autumn and so if I am lucky will see some distant autumn tree views from there too. Glad you liked this.

What a magical place! This is like a fairy tale forest on the full screen. I could stay there for hours.

HaHa, I had heard an example of that word only days ago whilst listening to the BBC here. Sorry that it caused some problems but happy that it has extended your English vocabulary. As you say - an illusive word, not in many dictionaries.

Susurration: The delicate-sounding word susurration comes by its gentleness naturally — it’s a very soft whispering sound that can barely be heard. It is a sound made with very little stirring of the vocal cords, resulting in the softest of sounds. The effect is as soft and calming as the word itself. This word is onomatopoeic, meaning it sounds like what it means: a susurration creates a sense of soft sound swirling around your ears pleasantly. Herb there is really no other shot in the group that stands out against this shot. Colour- just look at those tones , Content - whats better than naked trees and all the coloured leaves on the ground, invitation- no other photos makes you want to go into the scene and walk around in quite like this shot and fence - just what a grand but fitting fence for the landscape.

Just one question where do I leave my shoes to enter and walk into that landscape. HFF and all the very best from down under.

Hi Steve and sorry for the delay on seeing this - too many photos posted obviously! Your comment reminds me again of the differences between our two worlds and continents. Your observations here, mirror what I felt on taking this and even now when I look at this full screen I feel like a bird, flying into it -so I recommend, taking those shoes off and flapping your wings!
