This was taken on a sunny afternoon with the high contrast lighting that brings. So into Photoshop Elements for a bit of fun. The dark bits have got lighter. The light bits have got darker. The coloured bits have been saturated. Edges have been 'found'.

Building site at Claremont Road, Seaford, 8.3.2016

09 Mar 2016 1 299
Formerly the site of a bus depot and in more recent times a furniture repository and once cleared a car sales lot. This seems to be the only good-sized building plot in Seaford. Now that the South Downs National Park is wrapped around its boundary, there are few other options for building new houses.

Grandson's 5th birthday cake 10 12 2021

04 Sep 2022 6 11 209
The brown and yellow fondant icing covered one of my wife's excellent sponge cakes. The drainpipes made from confectionary bootlaces were laid in a trench cut in the sponge. The walls and floors of the partly constructed buildings were chocolate wafer biscuits. The rest of the scene was formed from foam insulation sheets. The cardboard skips were later filled with sweets/candies for our grandson's school friends. The crane was made from tilers' edging strips, with its cabin made from Tic Tac boxes. The trucks and diggers were borrowed from his own toybox.

A panoramic view made from three 35mm format photos. On checking the location on Google maps in August 2021, it appears that the portakabins were still there recently and there were even more floating cranes.

Newhaven Port new sidings 15 4 2020

20 May 2020 199
Two new railway sidings may not seem to be too significant to most places but they are signs that Newhaven's port improvements are under way. In neighbouring views the new bridge giving much improved road access to the port can also be seen. There is now a YouTube video of the first train into these sidings, to collect dredged aggregates that are off-loaded at a nearby quay and transported here on a conveyor belt. They are loaded onto wagons by a bucket loader. www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=29&v=l4i6Rz1ScLM&feature=emb_title
