Monday 22 July 2002(1715) - Austurleið-SBS Jonckheere bodied Mercedes-Benz coaches transferring passengers at Hella on evening services towards Reykjavík. Dark red liveried 502 was operating service 11a from Landmannalaugar and going through to Reykjavík. Green liveried 503 had operated service 9 from Ϸorsmork and terminated here.

Monday 29 July 2002 – Austurleið-SBS coach number 502, a Jonckheere bodied Mercedes-Benz which carried that number as the registration plate, loading at the BSÍ Coach Terminal in Reykjavík for the 0830 service 11 to Landmannalaugar and Skaftafell. It caries a burgundy livery introduced after the merger of the two companies although green was subsequently chosen as the company livery.

Tuesday 23 July 2002 - Austurleið-SBS was formed in 1999 as a result of the merger of Austurleið hf and SBS which was based in Selfoss. Scania 408 (X 48) still carried the colours of SBS when seen at Landmannalaugar in the remote highlands. No real catering facilities exist out here so the party need on board provisions which are awaiting their collection.

Monday 29 July 2002 – Austurleið-SBS coach number 407 (X 878), a Mercedes-Benz O 303, still carried the former SBS red and white livery. It was loading as the 0830 service 2 at the BSÍ Coach Terminal in Reykjavík. Service 2 is a circular service which calls at Geysir and Gullfoss, two very popular tourist locations. In addition to the service 2 route card in the window, a service 1 route card was also shown. The latter is the more frequent service as far as Selfoss which, on certain timings, is common to service 2.

Monday 29 July 2002 – Austurleið-SBS coach number 400 (KO 583), a Mercedes-Benz O 303, in the green livery seen at the BSÍ Coach Terminal, Reykjavík, Iceland. It was loading as the 0830 service 12 along the south coast ultimately due in Höfn at 1630. As can be seen, four different service number cards (9, 10, 12 and 13) were carried in the front windscreen! On this departure common timings are shared with service 10 to Vík arriving at 1230. Service 9 to Þhorsmork diverges at Hvolsvöllur (at 1035) and service 13 diverges to Holaskjol at Hella (at 1000). Coaches operating to these destinations will meet this coach en route.

Monday 22 July 2002 - Coaches seen at Geysir operating scheduled services primarily for tourists, services which pause for a while at a number of sightseeing locations on their route.
Austurleið-SBS X 878 Reykjavík was working service 2, a circular service departing Reykjavík at 0830 arriving back at 1655 calling at Geysir and Gullfoss, two very popular tourist locations. The company was formed in 1999 when Austurleið merged with SBS based in Selfoss. This Mercedes-Benz O 302 coach was with the latter company and carries their livery.
SBA-Norðurleið R 47019 was working the 0900 service from Reykjavík to Akureyri via the Kjolur highland route arriving at Akureyri at 1810. The company also operated what was the all year round main road route service between the two cities which took 6 hours. The company was formed in February 2001 when Sérleyfisbílar Akureyrar merged with Norðurleið-Landleiðir. This Scania coach was with the latter company and carries their livery.

SBA-Norðurleið R 47019 was working the 0900 service from Reykjavík to Akureyri via the Kjolur highland route arriving at Akureyri at 1810. The company also operated what was the all year round main road route service between the two cities which took 6 hours. The company was formed in February 2001 when Sérleyfisbílar Akureyrar merged with Norðurleið-Landleiðir. This Scania coach was with the latter company and carries their livery.

Ϸingvellir (Thingvellir) was where the first Icelandic Parliament, the Alþingi, was established in 930 A.D.
