For this week’s Sunday Challenge for which we were asked to take a photograph of something that used to be something else or for which an alternative use has been found.
This old bike is one of probably hundreds that have been decorated, painted and/or transformed to help promote this year’s Tour de Yorkshire and which can be found at various points along the race route. Not only do they help promote the staging of the race, but they provide a splash of colour and a warm welcome to participants as they cycle past.
The Tour de Yorkshire is now an established annual event and follows a new route through Yorkshire each year. Around 1.5 million people come out to watch the race in 2015 and this year it is hoped even more people will turn out to cheer on the 18 teams of eight riders as they travel to all four corners of Yorkshire, linking together the county’s sporting, historic, industrial and literary greats.
The race forms part of the legacy of the historic Yorkshire Grand Départ of the Tour de France which was held in Yorkshire back in 2014, along with the Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries initiative which aims to offer every child in Yorkshire access to a bike.

From what I've read online this is built around a Europa chassis with a Rover V8 providing the power.
Originally raced by Dimi Mavropoulos in the late 70s and then in the 80s by Terry Maynard who later restored it for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2009.

Noble Automotive Ltd., more commonly known simply as Noble, was established in 1999 by Lee Noble. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, they set about producing high-speed sports cars with a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. Lee Noble was the chief designer and owner of Noble, but he went on to sell the company in August 2006 before resigning in February 2008.
The M400 is the track variant of the Noble M12 and has been reported to do 0–60 mph in as little as 2.97 seconds.
It's claimed that only 75 examples of this model were ever made. The rarity of it and the fact that this car was spotted at a show in West Yorkshire has led me to wonder if this could be Lee Noble's very own car ... how cool would that be!

Jaguar C-Type - C990 NNU - Details Unknown

The Jaguar C-Type is a racing sports car built by Jaguar and sold from 1951 through until 1953. The car used the running gear of the contemporary XK120 in a lightweight tubular frame and aerodynamic aluminium body.
I've been unable to find any official records of this particular car so, given that only 53 C-Types were built, I'm thinking it might even be a replica.
