Back to cars tonight, but still feeling a little creative so I've had a bash at producing an arty farty type edit on a shot I took of the 1932 Model B's engine at the Hurworth Classic Car Show back in 2013 .
This was taken after the rain csame on a bit heavier that day so I'd swapped the Nikon D90 over for my trusty old Olympus C-370 Zoom.
Not in the same class as the big D90, but it still produces good detail shots ... even more so if they're going to be tweaked quite a bit like this one.

Despite my many years attending car shows I've always been pretty poor at distinguishing a Model A from a Model B.
I think this is a Model B, but I'm not 100% sure. What I am sure of is that it isn't a 1949 Prefect, which is what the AutoTrader site thinks it is. I'm also sure that it's one of the cleanest hot rods I've seen at local shows in quite a while.
UPDATE: Thanks to Renegade53 for confirming it's a 1932 Model B.

This is one of the shots I nearly used for this week's Sunday Challenge , which had the theme of metallic .
It's an interior shot of a 1931 Ford Model A hot rod. Like my main entry for the challenge, it too is one from the archives.
In fact, it was taken at the same event as said main entry: Classic on Show .
Just goes to show the diversity of exhibits on display!

This old Ford Pop also caught my eye.
Admittedly not as cutting edge or built to the same level as Dave Rothwell's Flying Twelve, but still a good example of a classic UK hot rod.

This highly modified Standard Flying 12, which was built in the UK by a guy called Dave Rothwell, is one of my all time favourite British hot rods.
The car actually started out as a 4-door saloon, but that was before Dave got his hands on it and transformed it into the stunning two-door coupé you see here.
Completely rebuilt to an impeccably high standard (no pun intended), the car now features extensive modifications throughout including:
Volvo V70 2.5 litre 200BHP Engine; Toyota Supra 5 Speed Manual Gearbox; Budnik Billet Wheels; and Full Leather Interior With Porsche 911 Seats.
I saw the car advertised for sale for a mere £25,000 just a few years ago. Now, normally, I wouldn't use the word mere in the same sentence as that kind of price tag, but believe me the car would have been worth every single penny.
The fact that it scored heavily in the Best In Britain competition and has even been featured on the Standard Motor Club's website says it all.

Love the interior too, especially the chrome webbing across the dash and the lovely stitching on the tuck and roll. This is 8 of 9.

And it looks just as neat from the back! This is 5 of 9 for those that are keeping count.

A 'Deuce Coupe' for those that don't know much about hot rods is a 1932 Ford Model B Coupe - considered by many to be the definitive "hot rod" and immortalised by The Beach Boys in their classic song, "Little Deuce Coupe".
The 3-window coupe is one of my all time favourite cars and the fact that this one was in red made it even more special.
This is one of 9 shots I'll be uploading to this album of this particular car, such was the impression it made on me.
