Sun, Rain and Worms ...

25 Sep 2017 71 94 3067
For this week's Sunday Challenge , which had the theme of transition . This is a shot of some autumnally coloured peony leaves which I'd just added onto the top of our compost heap. In a few months they and everything else in that pile should have been transformed into lovely crumbly compost ready to use as a mulch around the garden. Also for Sight and Sound ... Pete Seeger (words by Lee Hays) with the short, but somewhat amusing "In Dead Earnest" - enjoy: youtu.be/0Op-OxfwsNg youtu.be/X6tJKfVyGbE

They Come Back ...

For this week's Sunday Challenge , which had the theme of hands . After a few weeks of nearly having the door slam shut on me I thought I'd try and sneak in first this time around. Given how dark the actual shot it is, you might want to view large on black for best effect ... that's if you dare! Oh,and yes, in case you're wondering ... it is a real hand!

Barking Mad - Pt.2 ...

Here's another of the 'nearly made it' shots for this week's Sunday Challenge which had the theme of trees . Once again the subject is the old elderberry tree that is at the bottom of our garden. One of the larger branches was obviously sawn off in the distant past and this is looking straight on to the cut section. Not quite as sharp as I might have liked so I can see me revisiting this one at some point in the future.

Here's one of the 'nearly made it' shots for this week's Sunday Challenge which had the theme of trees . This is actually an old, make that a very old, elderberry tree that is at the bottom of our garden. The bark is quite spectacular even if I suspect most of the tree is now dead.

Texture Like Sun ...

The theme for The Sunday Challenge this week was middle of the day ... as simple as that, or not as the case may be. I did think about doing some arty farty macro style shots of a clock face or a watch, but I used an image of the clock tower at All Saints Church in Northallerton just a couple of weeks back so I rules those ideas out. Eventually, I just decided to go take the camera outside one day over lunch, starting from just before midday until just after 1.00pm and shoot whatever I saw that took my fancy ... yes, I was starting to get that feeling of desperation that being involved with TSC can produce. I took several shots around town, but the one I've opted to use was taken in my back garden. I noticed that the bright midday sun was striking a small pile of fallen leaves and creating some lovely shadows. It might not look like it was taken in the early afternoon, but believe me it was ... honest! www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7R7q1lSZfs

People At Car Shows

Far from the best photo I've ever taken, but certainly one of the funniest. I mean car shows can be really, really tiring and some times it can all get too much!
