Alexander Prolygin's photos with the keyword: Helsinki

The monument was created by sculptors Walter Runeberg and Johannes Takanen and opened in 1894, in memory of the restoration of Finnish parliamentarism by Emperor Alexander II. The emperor is depicted in the form of a Finnish Guards officer. At the foot of the pedestal, there are figures that embody “Law” (Lex), “Peace” (Pax), “Enlightenment” (Lux), and “Labour” (Labor).

Esplanade Park - linden park in the historic center of Helsinki. The park was laid out in the 1830s, thanks to the efforts of city architect Carl Ludwig Engel.

Johan Ludvig Runeberg (1804 - 1877) - Finnish poet of Swedish origin. One of his poems, Our Land, became the hymn of Finland.

This obelisk was unveiled in 1835 in commemoration of visit to Helsinki two yers earlier by Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra.
