Erected on 25 August 2021 at the north east corner of the Daedalus area (Lee on Solent/Fareham), a sculpture of the eponymous figure of Greek mythology was designed by Nigel Searle and created by blacksmith Peter Clutterbuck. Whilst I am a definite admirer, it divided local opinion and generated a lot of misinformed references to angels. It is also misrepresented as 'a gate guardian' although it is not not at any present day gate or entrance to Daedalus nor, as far as I know, to the former Royal Naval Air Station. 200_4_P1020873SCE
