Civil Engineering Training Centre (7) - 3 November…

Now substantially complete, the Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) at Daedalus, the latest addition to an impressive campus, stands in the slightly watery light of an early November morning. The worksite fencing has gone and planters brighten the forecourt. To the left and out of shot, some remaining fencing lies partially collapsed by the strong winds of the previous day. 5300_DSC_1515CE

As the footprint of the former RNAS Daedalus has shrunk, development around the outside of what is now the thriving Solent Airport has continued apace. One of the latest projects is the construction of CETC, the Civil Engineering Training Centre which is on the site of Hangar D, once occupied by Bournemouth Avionics and logically near CEMAST [qv] and Fareham Innovation Centre [also qv]. On the first day of September 2019 the view from Meteor Way showed the building and surrounds nearing completion. The college building now has smart lettering and, in overall appearance, complements attractively its neighbours. The area in the foreground, previously grassed, is in the course of being paved and there was work on that very site at 0743 this morning. 5300_DSC_1275CE

This is a view from Meteor Way just three weeks after my first photographs of the site and much of the glazing is in place. 5300_DSC_0614C
