Brutalism in Tel Aviv - 23 May 2014

Atarim Square in Tel Aviv is a highlight of Brutalism in Israel. This, seen at its best on a sunny morning, is the nicest part. In fact, the Panorama restaurant on the left of this picture is very good if somewhat informal. Much of the rest of the development, especially in its present state, could kindly be described as 'shocking'. 200_P1030289C

Pussycat Club - 15 May 2014

The correct term for the architecture of Atarim Square, Tel Aviv is 'brutalist'. If you were not familiar with that term, you might imagine it anyway in such a place. Possibly the least offensive of the structures, from the outside at least, is the Pussycat Club which, at dusk, was just coming to life. TZ30_P1020099
