Sunrising on Thirsty Land

Sunrising on Thirsty Land
This morning I went out with the dogs before sunrise as usual in Summer because of high temperatures. I took these photos (this one and the previous one) to honour World Photography Day.
Would need your help to choose which one for the group.
Both are SOOC, no processing as you can see on the EXIFs.
Thanks for your insight on this, have a nice day.

PIP above or there:
Thirsty Land Poetry

About me as photographer: I grabbed a camera for the first time I was 8 years old... a gift from a professional photographer who thought I had an eye for it.
Photography is my way of capturing beauty without taking away its freedom.
I just try to show my feelings through my photos and let everyone interpret according to what they are and how they see things.
I don't enjoy post processing, for me it has to be minimal, a photo is what I can get closer to what I see and therefore shoot manual almost always. Photoshop is more a way to give titles, reduce load... and minor corrections as crop or erase.
After over 60 years holding cameras I saw a lot of evolution but have a feeling for the essentials: photography is about light...

Christian H., * ઇઉ *, Paolo Tanino, Holger Hagen and 45 other people have particularly liked this photo

The picture with the rising sun makes me feel the brutality of heat and drought. I would also opt for the picture above.
Thank you for the interesting description of your way into the world of photography. Continued success on this way, Isabel

A wonderful start to your WPD Isabel Like you I only do the very minimum to a photo on the computer may be crop it and perhaps remove something that it was impossible to avoid, I use manual because I like being involved, I take photos for me I'm not trying to impress anyone

Ah to pick. It is one of the hardest things for me in general, and for your two photos? They both have such delights about them, it really doesn't matter which. Personally I'm more drawn to the PiP image, but that's probably because I would take that type of photo. The sunrise gives us hope for the new day and is wonderfully composed.

Thank you for sharing your photography story. You and I have both been photographing for about the same amount of time starting about the same age. It's a wonderful thing to live with. Do you have images from when you were little?

Happy World Photography Day!

Obrigada Laura. My first photographs as almost all taken before Africa in the mid eighties was lost in a flood, with some of Africa’s photos too, and all original editions of Tintin, some very ancient medicine books…

The thumbnail really stands out for this one and it is even more impressive when viewed large I say :-) For me the other photo would be a close runner-up but this one has the edge. Particularly for the light and exquisite colour.
A belated Happy World Photography Day, Isabel.

I love both , 'Sunrising on Thirsty Land', and "Thirsty Land Poetry'. Both pictures are very evocative and just dreamlike. But 'Thirsty Land Poetry' is an exceptional subject and a masterpiece in the play of light, structure, and depth of field.
