WHAT IS OVIBEJA?
This year the main theme of Ovibeja focuses on the climate change, about "How to Feed the Planet?" revealed in an exhibition and colloquiums.

OVIBEJA is the most important agricultural fair in Portugal. It takes place from 21 to 25 April 2022 in Beja, an ancient Roman inspired city located in the region of Alentejo, midway between Lisbon, Algarve and Seville, with Alqueva, the largest artificial lake of Europe, in its surroundings.

OVIBEJA is the main stage for the promotion of local and national agricultural products, livestock exhibitions and contests, regional food and wine tasting, music concerts and a large variety of amusement activities, in a modern fairground area of approximately 10 ha, counting with almost 1000 exhibitors and larges numbers of visitors each year.

Organized by ACOS, a farmers association since 1983, OVIBEJA has been recognized to have regional, national and international impact. It takes place during spring and is the centre stage for political debate regarding agriculture and livestock, rural development, as well as regional development policies in seminars and workshops. The event is also a real opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to establish important business connections in different areas, since it is visited by several business delegations from different regions of Portugal and from abroad and it is also an important event in the scheduling of political delegations from different parties, Government Ministers as well as European deputies and representatives.

Yes Diana is right ,the colours show the ownership, and it is a good way to keep them from the sheep rustlers.
But this colored sheep looks so lovely really!
