la vraie qualité n' a pas de prix ! mes chaussures de randonnée ne durent que deux ans (la plus solide , des LOWA a duré 15 ans ) . Je pense que , même à mon âge , acheter des chaussures de rando à 380 euros , est un bon investissement !

Si comme moi tu en fais beaucoup c'est un bon investissement. De chez eux j'ai aussi une paire montante fourrée pour la neige.

You can\b beat a good pair of leather walking boots. I prefer mine to be a bit higher above the ankle, but those look very nice.

I find that with any outdoor equipment, it's always worth buying the best you can afford - getting really cheap stuff is usually a false economy :-)

As I practice a lot of hiking in different conditions I am not ashamed to say I have other models, higher above the ankle too. Each pair suits one specific kind of terrain and weather conditions. One of my older ones (purchased 25 years ago)are timberland special for very cold weather, many leader layers, I can easily walk a couple of hours with minus 15/20ºC on snow and ice and keep my feet warm.
On the other hand I dont have any pair of posh shoes, even in town I wear hiking boots or sneakers!

I have several different types as well although I'm not up to long distance hikes anymore. I tend to use Keen or North Face and Merrell. All expensive, but they last for years. I'm a bit like you - the last time I wore posh shoes was before I retired and that was only because I had to wear a uniform :-))

I hike less distance too, but the most important change is about my backpack’s weigh I had to reduce drastically, that is : no more gear with several lenses…

I know what you mean. I changed from Nikon full-frame kit to Olympus Micro Four Thirds kit because of the weight. I've never regretted it as it has enabled me to keep taking photos.
