For 90 years Gwalia was a goldmining town. The mine closed in the 1960's and people just abandoned it. Now it sits quietly disintegrating in the middle of the West Australian desert, near Leonora.

Budgerigars are the smallest species of indigenous Australian parrot, and are found wild throughout the drier parts of Australia where the species has survived harsh desert conditions for the last five million years. in cities one usually encounters them only in cages. They are one of Australia's best known birds, being found as pets around the world!

Great Australian Bight. Mothers and infants. They spend the southern winter months in this uninhabited length of isloated coast, where the mothers give birth to their young, and fed and eat before heading back south to the Antarctic for summer.
