Ruins in autumn tundra

Medney Island. Commander Islands, Kamchatka, Russia. This is a now uninhabited island in the Bering Sea...this town was demolished and abandoned, with the population relocated to the bigger Bering Island. The ruins are eerily silent.

It would be a bit harsh climate wise! I think it was an administrative decision from above..to move the small population from here to the bigger island, where there is just one large village on quite a big island. It is hauntingly beautiful...but so very remote!
