hackney churchyard, london


there are plenty of late c18/ early c19 table tombs in hackney's campo santo, which was walled in 1707 and given avenues of trees in 1797 by harry sedgewick. burials stopped in 1859, and the tombs were shifted about the large l-shaped graveyard around the old tower and the new church in 1893
