St Andrews Cathedral, Clyde Street, Glasgow
The Metropolitan Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew or Glasgow Metropolitan Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow. The Cathedral, which was designed in 1814 by James Gillespie Graham in the Neo Gothic style, lies on the north bank of the River Clyde in Clyde Street. St Andrew's Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Glasgow, currently the Most Reverend Philip Tartaglia. It is dedicated to the patron saint of Scotland, Saint Andrew. Quoted from Wikipedia

A small cathedral full of grace. Unfortunately architectural aberrations are often built around. Interesting explanation. Warm greetings, Anton

I agree, Anton, modern architecture is often incongruous with the surrounding older buildings. Thanks for your very kind comment. Best wishes, Joe

A very impressive shot of this handsome Cathedral Joe. Apart from the beautiful detail, sharpness and colour, I love the blue reflections from the glass of the adjacent building. I wonder what is going on between the two buildings? Cheers, Rosa.

I am not sure what is happening in the space between the two buildings, Rosa, as I haven't been to Glasgow since the lock-down started. I have been in there, and there is a nice garden, that belongs to the Cathedral. I did take take a photograph there four years ago, which, just for you, I will publish soon. Thanks for your very kind comment. Cheers, Joe

I was going to say that you had a wonderful day of weather, but I see that this was taken before the lockdown on one of those heady days where we could go anywhere and do anything. A handsome church looking in lovely condition with a hint of reflection in this pristine street.

Yes, Amelia, I took this pic three weeks before the lockdown kicked in. I have been inside the cathedral a few times. The interior is quite beautiful. Thanks for your very kind comment. All the best, Joe
