Cute Tea Cosy!

Cute Tea Cosy!
I saw this tea cosy in the window of a cafe in Mere. A bit of condensation at the bottom of the window. The PiP was from Waterside, Mere. As soon as the boys saw me, they were off! Probably quicker to walk than swim!

Thank you very much Günter. Maybe tea cosies are coming back into fashion. I would love one like this ;-)) The mallards didn't appreciate having their photo taken!

Best wishes and a good weekend, Rosa.

I can't remember the last time I saw a tea cosy............we've never used one but my Mum always did. This is a cute looking one as they go though. Nicely captured.

I've always remembered a quote by Billy Connolly who said: “Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cozy, doesn't try it on. ”

A great PiP............Mallards are always great fun and this is a super photo.

I. hope you have an enjoyable weekend Rosa.

It's all made in the cup with tea bags nowadays Keith. I do get the teapot out occasionally, and would love a cosy like this one ;-)

That's a great quote by Billy Connolly.....I have seen a few do just that ;-))

I only just managed to get a pic of the Mallards. They were off as soon as they saw me!
Obviously a bit camera shy!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Keith. Lovely weather today.

Remarquables et excellentes captures. La première est vraiment fascinante et impressionnante. Un couvercle surprenant par sa teneur. La deuxième capture est ravissante aussi et bien présentée.
Bonne et agréable fin de semaine salutaire.

A nurse teapot cosy!!! The tea from this teapot can only do good!!!!
I remember when we had a holiday in England in 1998 (Henley in Arden), our three daughters (then aged 16,16 and 13) were in awe of the teapots and teapot covers with very, very varied designs! !!!!!!!
Good evening, Rosa******

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Nouchetdu38 club
Oh yes, the tea is good! Before tea bags, every household would be the proud owner of a tea cosy Nouchet ;-)) I have never been to Henley-in-Arden, but it looks nice. I must add it to my list! A good base to visit Stratford-upon-Avon.

Buen domingo, Rosa

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to José Manuel Polo club
Before tea bags, when all tea was loose leaf, every house would have a tea cosy Jose Manuel ;-)) Maybe not quite like this one!! Yes they are Mallards and probably not so used to humans feeding them as some are.
Sunday greetings.

I do like that apt expression "your ducks in a row" from Joe :-) Mallards are "wimps", as we know, but you've captured them well! And if they run away from the camera, it's just that they disdain fame ;-)
I didn't know about this English tradition of Tea Cosy, which seems outdated in the age of "connected objects" but perpetuates a conviviality that is unfortunately losing ground. So: thank you for this testimony, Rosa!
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Eric Desjours club
Thank you for your very kind comments Eric. Yes, it is a good expression! Most Mallards that I see are quite happy to stick around, in case there is food, but these soon shot off!
Sadly tea cosies are generally a thing of the past, but recently may daughter's partner asked me if I could make one! I don't think it will be a knitted one though ;-))

The therapeutic power of tea. One comes to the conclusion that what is truly essential in ducks is to be able to get their feet wet.

You're right, this is so cute :-) And guess what? A couple of years ago my friend in the UK (my very first pen-pal, we started corresponding in 1972 and we're still in touch...and visited each other a few times as well) sent me one that she had made. It's delightful :-)
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Edna Edenkoben club
That is lovely to have kept in touch for so long Edna. So you have visited her, has she visited you in Germany? My lovely nan (gran) knitted many, but these days, with tea bags, most people make it in the cup! I have two nice teapots that come out when I have visitors ;-)
Edna Edenkoben club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
Yes, it really is, Rosa. She knows most of my family and I know hers. They're all wonderful! I visited her three times (in 1976, 1990, and 2018) and she in 1976 and 1979. She's planning to visit me again in two years when I'm retired and I'll have more time. She had the chance of retiring a couple of years ago, lucky her!

Yes, I know, but I don't like tea bags. So people should knit or crochet cosies for tea bags then... ;-)))
